친애하는 회원 및 친구 여러분

Dear Members & Friends

 

저희 재단이 환갑을 지나 어느덧 창립 61주년이 되었습니다.

Our foundation has already passed its 60st birthday and has now reached its 61st anniversary

 

 

지난 몇 년간 한미여성회는 행복, 분노, 슬픔, 즐거움 등의 시대에 이민자들의 온갖 감정을 공유해 왔습니다. 우리는 가정폭력을 경험하고, 언어적, 신체적 학대를 당하는 여성들을 보호하고 안전한 쉼터를 제공해야 합니다. 우리의 바람은 마음이 아픈 피해자들이 마땅히 받아야 할 정상적인 삶을 추구할 수 있는 길을 열어주는 것입니다. 우리의 운영 계획 외에도 여성들이 스스로 자립할 수 있도록 전문적인 도움을 받는 HOH를 지원하기 위한 기금 모금 연회에 우리 후원 단체의 모든 귀중한 구성원을 초대하고 싶습니다.

During these years, the Organization of Korean American Women, Inc. has shared all kinds of immigrant’s emotions in times such as happiness, anger, sorrow and pleasure. We ought to protect and provide safe shelters for the women whom have experienced domestic violence and who are/were abused verbally and physically. Our desire is to open avenues for the victims from their heart ache to pursue a normal life that they deserve. In addition to our plan of operation, we would like to invite all valuable members of our sponsor groups to participate in a fund raising banquet to support the HOH, where women are getting professional help so they can stand on their own feet.

  

우리 조직에 대한 여러분의 지원 덕분에 우리는 언어, 문화적 장벽 등 많은 장애물을 극복할 수 있었습니다. 비록 우리는 완벽하지는 않지만, 서로 나누는 놀라운 전통을 계승하고, 폭력 피해 여성들의 궁극적인 쉼터로 인정받고 싶습니다.

Because of your support to our Organization, we were able to overcome many obstacles such as language and cultural barriers. Although we are not perfect , we desire to pass on our wonderful tradition of sharing with one another and to be acknowledged as the ultimate shelter for battered women.

  

현재 코로나-19로 인해 잠정 중단된 우리는 HOH와 원치 않는 어려운 상황에 대처하고 있는 사람들을 위해 지속적으로 손을 뻗을 것입니다. 합격한 여성은 전문적인 협력을 통해 치료를 받게 됩니다. 우리는 이 아름다운 이민자 사회를 지원하기 위해 영원히 부지런히 노력할 것입니다.

Currently on temporary suspension due to COVID-19, We will continually stretch our hands out to the HOH and to those people who are coping with unwilling and difficult situations. Admitted women will be treated with professional partnership help. We will be forever diligent in supporting this beautiful immigrant society.

 

귀하의 작업이 OKAW에 얼마나 중요한지는 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않습니다. 여러분의 지원이 없었다면 우리는 결코 여기까지 올 수 없었을 것입니다. 연약한 여성들을 품고 후원하시는 여러분의 따뜻한 마음이 계속되길 진심으로 바랍니다. 여러분 모두에게 평화와 행복이 함께 하시길 바랍니다.

We cannot emphasize enough how important your work is to OKAW. We would never have gotten this far without your support. We sincerely hope that your warmth of embracing and sponsoring these fragile women will continue. May peace and happiness be with you all.

 

결론적으로 우리는 계속해서 성장해야 합니다. 그러기 위해서는 따뜻한 마음을 갖고 자신의 기술을 공유하고 우리의 위대한 대의에 동참하기를 원하는 새로운 회원에게 다가가서 모집하는 것이 각 회원의 의무입니다.

In closing, we have to continue to grow. In order to do that it is incumbent upon each member to reach out and recruit new members who have a warm heart and want to share their skills and to join our great cause.
